On Friday, February 3, 2012  from 8-10 p.m., Froggy’s Restaurant will hold another of it’s musical evenings, “Friday at Froggy’s.”

This night will showcase Susan Lovell and The Topanga Canyon Band, sharing some of Susan’s original songs from her album, “Topanga Anthem – Songs to the Canyon”, along with other songs of a folk and country genre, from artists such as Dylan, Paxton and Collins. The evening will also showcase Janet Crouch Shulman on cello during the second third, with ballads and songs from early America.

Other band members will include Dave Lynch, who will entertain us with his backup fiddle along with two great solo numbers  and our newest member, Ken Shaw, providing excellent backup on double bass.

I’ll be performing with some of The Topanga Canyon Band on the patio for dinner in Topanga.  We’ll be at The Canyon Bistro Restaurant on Sunday,  September 11 starting at 7pm until around 9pm.  Along with me and my guitar will be our talented cellist, Janet Crouch Shulman, who will be playing her beautiful instrument.  The songs will be mellow, the ambiance serene and the food delicious!  Hope those of you in the area can make it….it should be fun!

Playing at Hillbilly Hip in Topanga

Last night, August 16, at Hillbilly Hip, the new little music venue near Rocco’s, we performed for a friendly crowd! Frank Harper with his great banjo and second guitar, and Scott King, terrific as ever on the bass, shared the stage…I sang some of my new Topanga album songs, plus some “ramblin’ songs from Tom Paxton, et al.  A good time was had by all!

We were invited to return and share more of our music….so we shall!!

I’m playing (with Scott King on bass and Frank Harper on banjo/guitar) at Hillbilly Hip…cute new venue in the old marketplace in town…up from the Messenger office… Tuesday, Aug 16th…about 9:15 pm!
